Macross is one of anime’s most storied franchises, but it’s been largely unavailable to Western audiences. Until now, that is.

Though parts of its story haven’t aged too well, Macross Plus’ animation, visuals, and music are still as stunning as ever.

Even if you finish the episode a little confused on the plot (and you will), you’ll still be blown away by the episode’s visuals.

It successfully combines high-tech action sequences with some interesting, if not moving human interest stories.
