“Drum And Bass” Reviews

Unlike some bands that “drum and bass” is attached to, Faith Massive are all about the groove and the mood, as opposed to flashing the mad skillz.

There’s no doubt that there will be drum and bass/jungle fans that will eat World Domination up.

But there’s just too much going on at once in these songs, and it’s not used effectively.

The time off given to these machines and beats seems to let one hear them in a new context though.

Simply put, this disc is all over the place, jumping from dub to hip-hop, drum n’ bass to club-friendly downbeat.

Lyrically, the album is a mature look at desire, longing, broken relationships, and the grey areas of romance.

I can’t shake this feeling that Watt and Thorn were just trying too hard to make this album full of club singles, of trying to raise their DJ cred.

Super slick, super sweet drum and bass that sounds like it was recorded in someone’s living room.

I’d like to take this album on a long drive through the country with the top down, and just soaking up the spring.

By the middle of the CD, I was beginning to really look forward to hearing someone from this stable of artists take on something downtempo and textured.
