“Cyberpunk” Reviews

A deeply existential dystopic tale that seems intent on doing everything it can to leave viewers scratching their heads, for better or worse.

From its lifeless 3DCG animation to its nonsensical storyline, the latest Ghost in the Shell title underwhelms in every way.

But those hoping to see lots of the manga’s vast, dystopian weirdness may be slightly disappointed.

Vertical Comics’ excellent reprint captures all of the engrossing and unsettling detail in Nihei’s intricate artwork.

Appleseed Ex Machina is primarily disappointing because it squanders so much of the depth and potential that existed in the original.

Much of Appleseed’s appeal will undoubtedly be due to its unique visuals.
