House of Flying Daggers has moments of brilliance that are simply unmatched.

Zhang Yimou’s entry into the wuxia genre is majestic, stirring, and beautiful. Oh, and it features some kick-ass action sequences, too.

The film’s realistic approach is refreshing and the children’s’ performances are both cute and poignant.
