The Whole World’s Upside Down in Stranger Things Season 2

Things far, far worse than the demogorgon are lurking in the Upside Down.
Stranger Things Season 2 Monster

Yes, the Patriots pulled off the biggest upset in Super Bowl history, blah blah blah. But let’s be honest: the true highlight of the night was the first real look at Stranger Things’ second season.

To say that expectations are running high for the new season of Netflix’s cult hit would be a gross understatement; I’ve already posted a few theories concerning the further adventures of Eleven, Will, and the rest of Hawkins, Indiana, and I’m far from the only one. And this short teaser is pretty tantalizing.

It’s more about setting the mood than revealing much about the story, but a few things are clear. The ’80s aesthetic is still perfectly realized, from the Eggo commercial to the boys’ Ghostbusters costumes. Creepy secret government experiments still seem to be in full effect. And the final shot makes it pretty clear that things far, far worse than the demogorgon are lurking in the Upside Down.

Stranger Things’ second season starts streaming on Halloween, which can’t come soon enough this year.
